Abliterant / Privacy
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Abliterant handles information when you visit our websites, use Chat, or contact us.

Information we handle
- Account information: your email address, account identifiers, verification and sign-in records, and security settings. Password sign-in uses a one-way password hash, not a stored plaintext password.
- Linked sign-in information: the provider account identifier and verified email received when you use Google or GitHub. We do not store their access tokens.
- Conversation information: your messages, replies, titles, saved message versions, attachments, timestamps, and any recorded reasoning or blocked-response details.
- Usage and billing information: message counts, request metadata, plan and subscription records, and payment-provider references. You enter card details on Stripe's pages; we do not receive or store your full card number.
- Support information: messages and information you choose to send us when asking for help.
Our network and security providers also process connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service.
How we use information
We use information to provide Chat, save conversations, manage accounts and subscriptions, send account emails, answer support requests, enforce usage limits, and protect the service against abuse.
We do not use your conversations to train Abliterant models. This commitment concerns Abliterant models; it is not a claim about every external provider's policies.
Conversations and attachments
Messages and relevant conversation history are sent to our hosted model to generate a reply. Text is also processed by our moderation service. Images are processed by the chat model; the current text classifier does not inspect image pixels.
For document and text-file attachments, the browser extracts text and sends that text with file metadata. Images are resized and re-encoded in the browser before being sent. The extracted text or processed image is stored with the conversation.
Editing a message or regenerating a reply creates another saved version rather than erasing the earlier one. Authorized staff can review stored conversations, including attachments, inactive versions, and chats removed from your history. Transcript and staff image-view access through the team console is logged.
How we share information
We use hosting and computing, security, email, sign-in, and payment providers to operate our services. These providers process account, conversation, technical, or payment information according to their role.
These services have their own privacy practices and retention rules. Processing may take place outside your country; we do not offer a specific data-residency guarantee.
If you create a share link for a conversation, anyone with the link can read that conversation's shared messages and attachment names, but not file contents or images, until you remove the link, the conversation is deleted, or your account is closed. Our staff can also remove share links.
We may disclose information when required by applicable law or to respond to a valid legal request.
Retention and deletion
We do not retain conversation data.
Account, billing, usage, and security records are also retained. We do not currently apply fixed automatic deletion periods to those records. Backups can contain copies of stored data; backup rotation does not erase records that remain in the primary database.
You can close your account in Chat settings. Closing your account signs you out everywhere, cancels a card subscription immediately, and removes your email address and sign-in methods from the account. Conversation data remains subject to the retention statement above. Chat does not currently provide a self-service data-export feature. For a privacy request, contact us as described below.
Cookies and browser storage
Cookies support sign-in, sessions, account security, and protected requests. Browser storage remembers interface preferences, such as the Think setting. Our network and security providers may set cookies needed to operate their services.
Blocking these cookies can prevent sign-in and account features from working.
Website analytics
We use Plausible to understand how people use our public website and research blog, including pages viewed, referring sites, general browser and device information, and clicks on selected links. This analytics uses no cookies and is not installed in Chat or the team console. We do not send conversation content, form contents, account identifiers, or URL query strings to Plausible.
Privacy requests
Email support@abliterant.ai to ask about your information or request access, correction, or deletion. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We review requests individually and handle them according to applicable law.
Your location may give you additional privacy rights, including the right to complain to a data-protection authority. This policy does not limit those rights. Removing a chat from history is not the same as making an erasure request.
Age and policy updates
Chat is for people aged 18 or older. Contact us if you believe someone under 18 has provided information through a Chat account.
When you confirm that you are 18 or older and accept the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, Chat records that confirmation together with the version you accepted and the time.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
